Shelter Island Lions 2024 Roadside & Beach Cleanup

THE 2024 SI LIONS ROADSIDE CLEANUP IS SCHEDULED FOR  SATURDAY, APRIL 13th, from 9:30 am through 12:00 pm. 

Select below one of eleven sections on the Island  you would like to help clean up or click on NO PREFERENCE to be assigned a section.  Please enter your name and email address (to receive a reminder or inclement weather cancellation note) and click on the yellow SUBMIT button.  You will then see your selection information displayed.

Schedule — Saturday, April 13th
  • 9:30 am — Meet at the Center Firehouse for coffee and bagels and to pick up high-visibility vests, trash grabbers, gloves and garbage bags and to receive instructions.  Suggest you bring some tick repellant and a reusable water bottle.
  • 10:00 am to 12:00 pm  — Walk the roadsides and public beaches in the section you selected, collect trash, and bring filled trash bags back to Firehouse.  Town vehicles with warning lights will follow volunteers on major roadways.
  • 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm —- Return to Center Firehouse for a free barbecue lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and water, courtesy of SI Fire Department and Lions Club.
